appointment of Mr. ALLEN MONTGOMERY LEWIs, Barrister at Law, of St. Lucia,
to be one of Her Majesty's Counsel for the Windward Islands.
The instrument of appointment is published hereunder for general informa-

of the Middle Temple, Barrister-at-Law, resident at Castries, in the Colony of
St. Lucia in the Windward Islands, of Our Especial grace, certain knowledge
and mere motion have thought fit to constitute and appoint and by these

of Our Counsel for Our Windward Islands comprising the Colonies of Grenada,
Saint Vincent, Saint Lucia and Dominica and the Dependencies thereof to hold

PRIVILEGES and PRE-EMINENCES to the said appointment belonging or
appertaining in as full and ample a manner as any other Our Counsel learned
in the Law in any of Our Colonies doth hold or enjoy or of right ought to have
held or enjoyed the same, and also the liberty of sitting and practising within
the Bars of Our said Colonies as any of Our Counsel learned in the Law do
ought or may.

be published within Our Windward Islands and be duly recorded in the Offices
of the respective Administrators of Our said Colonies.

2. The District Committees will ar-

Medical Officer for the transportation of
the injured to first-aid stations; trans-
ferring the seriously wounded to Kings-
town for hospitalisation; detention of
the slightly wounded at first-aid stations
in the districts; establishment of central
kitchens to cope with immediate de-
mands for relief food; rationing and
distribution of foodstuffs; housing and
clothing of distressed persons.
3. Should the roads be blocked so
that communication with the District
Chairman is not possible each member
of the Committee will act on his own
initiative and organise relief parties to
clear the roads and give first aid until
such times as he can communicate with
the Chairman.
In this event each member of a Com-
mittee will send a written statement to
the Central Committee as required in
1 (a) to (g), transmitting a copy as soon
as possible to the Chairman of his dis-
trict committee.
Daily announcements will be made
over Radio St. Vincent (90 metres) at
7.30 a.m. throughout the hurricane seas-
on. In the event of a storm approach-
ing the island further announcements
.ill be made at 12.15 p.m. and 4.15 p.m.

appointments to the post of Program-

Broadcasting Servic e, St. George's,

4. Essential qualifications include
some experience -of .newspaper work,
an interest in current affairs and a
knowledge of the Windward Islands,
and an ability to produce and record
programmes of a varied nature.
5. A Programme Assistant will he
stationed in each of the three islands of
St. Vincent. St. Lucia and Dominica. '
He will be required to work under the
direction of the Programme Director
andi supply the main station in Grenada
with news and recordings of talks, dis-
cussions, music, etc. He will act as
representative of the Windward Islands
Broadcasting Service. The successful
candidate s will be required to undergo
a period of training with the main
station in Gren:la.
6. Free passages will be provided
for the selected officers on appointment,
(including wife and children n.t exceed-
ing five persons in iall), and on satisfac-
tory termination of the contract.
7. Vacation leave on full salary will
lbe rankeded :it th- rate of one week for
each comple:ei period of three months
resident service : such leave to be taken
on the satisfactory completion of the
period of contract.

ELECTION OF DISTRICT DELEGATES TO REPRESENT SMALL GROWERS
ON THE ARROWROOT ASSOCIATION.
Under the Arrowroot (Amendment) Ordinance, No. 15 of 1954, notice is
hereby given that the election of a district delegate for each of the districts
enumerated hereunder will take place at the time and place stated:-
NORTH LEEWARD DISTRICT.
On Friday the 3rd day of August, 1956, between the hours of 10.30 a.m. and
2 p.m. at Troumaca Government School.
KINGSTOWN AND SOUTH LEEWARD DISTRICTS.
On Saturday the 4th day of August, 1956, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and
12.00 noon at the Office of the Agricultural Department, Kingstown.
NORTH WINDWARD DISTRICT.
On Friday the 3rd day of August, 1956, between the hours of 3.30 p.m. and
5.30 p.m. at the Georgetown Government School.
CENTRAL WINDWARD.
On Friday the 3rd day of August, 1956, between the hours of 3.30 p.m. and
5.30 p.m. in Area "A" at the Park Hill Arrowroot Factory and in Area "B" at

Area "B" includes Stubbs, Mt. Pleasant, Calder, Argyle, Brighton, Belvi-
dere, Enhams, Victoria Village, Glamorgan, Prospect, Diamond, Choppins,
Carapan, Rathomill, Calliaqua, Glen and Golden Vale.
SAINT GEORGE DISTRICT.
On Friday the 3rd day of August, 1956, between the hours of 3.30 p.m. and
5.30 p.m. at the Belair Government School.
All persons whose names appear on the list of small growers who delivered
starch from the above districts to the Arrowroot Association during Crop 1955-56
are entitled to vote and each person is entitled to one vote only.

1. Short title. This Notice may be cited as the Prices Control
(Amendment No. 3) Notice, and will come into force oi 1st August, 1956.
2. Amendment. The prices set out hereunder are the Maximum prices
for which the articles enumerated may be sold in the Colony and the First Sch'adule
Part B to the Prices Control Order 1947 (S.R. & 0. No, 25) is- hereby amended
by deleting all the words, figures and symbols occurring in the columxis opposite
the article (Part BR "Flour", and, substituting therefore the following:

WHEREAS by section 7 of the Bank Holidays Ordinance, Chapter 161, it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time,
by Proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint a special day to be observed as a Bank
Holiday throughout the Colony:
AND WHEREAS it is deemed fit and proper that a day should be set apart and
celebrated throughout the Colony and known as "Federation Day":
Now THEREFORE I do, with the advice of the Executive Council, and pursuant
to the authority in me -vested by the said Ordinance, hereby appoint Thursday,
the 2nd day of August, 1956, to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout the
Colony.
GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Island of Saint Vincent
