WHEREAS by section 65 of the Land and House Tax Ordinance, Cap. 194, it
is enacted that the Governor in Council may by Proclamatiori extend the time
fixed under the said Ordinance for the payment of any taxes or of any fines
thereon:
Now THEREFORE I, ALEXANDER FALCONER GILES, the Officer for the time
being administering the Government of the Colony of Saint Vincent, with the
advice of the Executive Council, and pursuant to the authority in me vested by
'the said Ordinance, do hereby proclaim that the time fixed under the said
Ordinance for the payment of land and house tax without fine in the Island of
Bequia for the current year shall be extended to the 31st day of December; 1956.

at the Government Office in the said Island this 29th day of May in the
Year of Our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-six and in the
Fifth Year of the Reign of Her Majesty 'QUEEN ELIZABETH THE

PLANT PROTECTION (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS.
(Gazetted 30th May, 1956.)
1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Plant Protection
(Amendment) Regulations, 1956, and shall be read as one with the Plant Protec-
tion Regulations, 1942, (S.R. & 0. 1942, No. 88) (hereinafter referred to as the prin-
cipal Regulations) and all amendments thereto.
2. Regulation 7 of,principal Regulations amended. RegulaTion
7 of the principal Regulations is hereby amended by deleting the words "the
United. States of Aimerica and" appearing in the first line of paragraph (d)
thereof.
3.. Regulation 11 of principal Regulations amended. Regulation
11 of the principal Regulations is hereby amended-
(a) by deleting the words "the United States of America and" appearing in
the second line of paragraph (2) thereof; and
(b) by substituting a colon fof the full stop appearing at the end of para-
graph (3) thereof and adding thereto the following Provisos and defini- "
tion:
"Provided that the importation of any fruit from the State of
Florida is hereby prohibited:
"And provided further that any fruit imported from other parts,
of the United States of America will only be allowed into the Colony
if accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate,
"Fruit" in this paragraph means any edible part or product derived
from a flower but does not include nuts, cereals or pulses."
Made by the Governor in Council under section 15 of the Plant Protection
Ordinance, 1941, (No. 10 of 1941), this 28th day of May, 1956.
