QUEE-N'S BIRTHDAY PARADE, 1956.
With reference to Government Notice No. 205 of 15th May, 1956, the following
is the Official Programme relating to the ceremonial for Her Majesty the Queen's
Birthday Parade to take place at the Richmond Hill Playing Field, Kingstown,
on Friday, 1st June, 1956:
8.15 a.m. Parade consisting of the following detachments will assemble at
Hillsboro Street and march to Richmond Hill:-
St. Vincent Police Force with Band.
Auxiliary Police.
Fire Brigade Section of Auxiliary Police.
Grammar School Cadet Corps.
Boy Scouts.
Girl Guides.
British Red Cross.
Members of the St. Vincent Legion of the British Empire Service League will
be present.
9.00 a.m. (1) His Honour the Administrator will arrive.
(2) His Honour, accompanied by the Chief of Police, will inspect
the Parade.
(3) His Honour will take the Salute at the March Past of the
Parade.
(4) The Royal Standard, symbolising the presence of Her Majesty
the Queen, will be raised.
(5) Parade advances in Review Order.
(6) Royal Salute. Twenty-one guns salute.
(7) Three cheers for Her Majesty the Queen led by His Honour.
(8) Royal Salute and Royal Standard lowered.
(9) His Honour resumes position at Saluting Base and the Union
Jack raised.
(10) Announcements.
(11) His Honour departs.
Members of Executive and Legislative Councils, Members of the Kingstown
Board, Small Town Boards, Village Councils, Ministers of Religious Denominations
and all public officers and their wives are invited to be present.
A cordial invitation is also extended to the general public to attend.

INTRANSIT VISIT OF GOVERNOR.

His Excellency Mr. C. M. DEVERELL, C.M.G., C.V.O., O.B.E., Governor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Windward Islands, accompanied by Mrs. Deverell,
passed through the Colony on Monday, 28th May, 1956, on the S.S. "West Indian"
en route to Dominica for an official visit of about three weeks.
During His Excellency's absence from Grenada, Mr. Louis CooLS-LARTIGTE,
O.B.E., Chief Secretary, Windward Islands, will act as Governor's Deputy.

(No. 22 of 1946).

IN THE MATTER OF THE ACQUISITION by the Governor in Council of a parcel
of land at Evesham in the Parish of St. George in the Island of St. Vincent
containing 37,925 sq. ft.


DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.

(SECOND PUBLICATION)

WHEREAS it was decided by the Governor in Council that a parcel of land
situate at Evesham in the parish of St. George, bounded on the North, North-East
and West by lands of the Heirs of Mrs. Durrant, on the South-East by Daniel
Charles and on the South by a Public Road and containing 37,925 sq. ft., should
be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, the construction of a school;
AND WHEREAS the said parcel of land has been acquired compulsorily for the
public purpose aforesaid;
AND WHEREAS the plan showing the above-mentioned parcel of land prepared
by the Authorised Officer, E. Stinson Campbell, Land Surveyor, may be inspected
during working hours at the Survey Office in the town of Kingstown in the Island
of St. Vincent;
Now THEREFORE, this is to inform all persons interested that, upon the SECOND
PUBLICATION of this Declaration in the Gazette, the above-mentioned parcel of land
shall vest absolutely in the Crown
AND THIS Is ALSO To REQUIRE all persons interested, as soon as is reasonably
practicable, and not later than three months after the last date of publication
of this Declaration, either-
(i) to appear personally or by their attorneys or agents before the Authorised
Officer to state the nature of their respective interests in the land and
the amount and full particulars in respect of those interests, distinguish-
ing the amounts under separate heads and showing how the amount
claimed under each head is calculated; or
(ii) to render the Authorised Officer a statement in writing signed by them
or their attorneys or agents, setting forth the like matters.

VACANCY FOR ASSISTANT ENGINEER.

1. Applications are invited from suit-

ment to the post of Assistant Engineer
in the Windward Islands Broadcasting
Service, St. George's. Grenada, B.W.I.
2. The salary of the post is $3,600 per
annum. Quarters are not provided.
