weapons in public places without
lawful authority or reasonable
excuse.

Order S.R. & 0. No. 25, all traders are
hereby notified that the return submitted
to the. Controller of Supplies on the 17th
day of each month may be discontinued
until further notice. The return sub-
mitted on the 2nd day of each month by
12 o'clock noon is to be continued ; the
return to contain stocks of the articles
in Part B of the First Schedule held by
them on the 1st day of each month.

INCOME TAX NOTICE.

TO GOVERNMENT OFFICERS.

All Government Officers are hereby
reminded that the latest date for the
submission of Income Tax Returns for
assessment in the year 1956 is the 31st
January, and that failure to give notice
of chargeability is an offence against the
Income Tax Ordinance, rendering the
person concerned liable on conviction
to a fine not exceeding FOUR HUNDRED
AND EIGHTY DOLLARS.
2. EVERY PERSON whose income
accruing in, derived from the Colony
or elsewhere and whether received in the
Colony or not for the preceding year,
exceeded the statutory limit of $480 is
required to submit a return on the pre-
scribed form notwithstanding that on
account of approved deductions no tax
may eventually be chargeable, ,and par-
ticular attention is directed to the fact
that the term "income" is deemed to
include not only money but also allow-
ances in kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
blank return forms to such persons
through their Heads of Departments. It
is to be clearly understood, however, that
the Income Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to any-
one and that a person is not exonerated
from the statutory liability of making a
return even though a form may not have
been received from the Department.
Forms may be obtained, on application,
at the Revenue Offices at Georgetown,
Barrouallie, Bequia and Union Island, or
in any other district from the Police
Station situate therein, or from the
Income Tax Office Kingstown, where
any person requiring information in
connection therewith is invited to enquire.
4. Where Officers are in receipt of in-
come other than salaries, the form
should include particulars thereof and
should be accompanied by the necessary
supporting statements.

PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE.

A Course of instruction to prepa e
Candidates f'o the examination f'or the
Royal Society for the Promotiolt of
Health Certificate will be given in the
Medical Department, Kingstown, (lur-
ing the coming year. The course will
commence on the 23rd January. 1956
and will last for six months during
which time lectures ;n d demonstrations
will be given three afternoons a week
in the Medical Departmient.
Prospective Candidates should be of


a high educational standard. Posses-
sion of the Cambridge Senior Certificate
or its equivalent is desirable but not
essential. Consideration will be given
to ;andidat-'s who pass a special quali-
fying examination which will be held
prior to the commencement of the
Course,. but such Students will be ulti-
mately eligible only for the local quali-
fying examination for Sanitary Inspec-
tors, and cannot sit for the recognized
Royal Society Certificate.
Further details as regards the fees
payable for the Course, d;ites of examin-
ation, and times of lectures will be sup-
plied on direct application to the Medi-
cal Department.

1. Short title. This Notice may be cited as the Prices Control
(Amendment) Notice, 1956.
2. Amendment. The prices set out hereunder are the Maximum prices
for which the articles enumerated may be sold in the Colony and the First Schedule
Part B to the Prices Control Order 1947 (S.R. & 0. No, 25) is hereby amended
by addition of the words, figures and symbols occurring in the columns opposite
the article-Rice (India).
