3. The milk must contain not le-s
than 3 per cent of fats and 81 per cent
of non-fatty solids and is to be deliv-
ered in good condition at the Institu-
tion concerned. The contract will be
terminable by three months' notice on
either side.
4. Tenders are to be addressed to the
Chairman, Tenders Board, Treasury.

" Tender for Milk ".
Any delivery charge should be stated
on the Tender separate from the actual
price of the commodity.
The Government does not bind itself
to accept the lowest or any tender, and
reserves the power of acceptIng any part
of a tender.
Nothing in any contract which may be
entered into will be considered as affect-
in, the right of the Government to
import at any time any articles it may
require notwithstanding such supply is
contracted for locally.
The attention of parties tendering is
particularly directed to the "conditions
of contract" inserted at the end of this
notice which will be binding on them.

CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT.
1. The Contract to be from 1st Jan-
tary. to 31st December, 1P5.
2. The Contractor undertakes to de-
livfwr at his own expense into the Stores
of Institutions the articles placed oppo-
site his name at the pricc stated, on
sunb days, at such times, and in such
quantities as may be stated on the
requisitions of the Head of Department
or Officer in charge.
Firewood for the Extension Hospital,
Montrose, Leper Asylum, Fort Char-
lotte, Mental Hospital, Villa and Pauper
Asylum, Glen, to be delivered stacked at
the respective places named.
3. Every article supplied must be of
a round, good quality, and ;no article is
to be substituted for the one requisi-
tioned for without the consent of the
requisitioning officer first obtained.
4. Any articles considered by the
Head of Department or Officer in charge
to he of inferior quality may be rejected
by him, and shall be immediately re-
moved and replaced by the Contractor
at his own expense, without any allow-
ance being made to him far such arti-
cles
5. If the rejected article;, are not re-
moved within 9 hours from the time
notice shall have been given to the Con-
tractor, they will be returned to, and at
th- expense of the Contractor; pro-
vided that if the Contractor gives such
explanation as may be sati:dactory to
the Administrator, the ex'zen.se of such
return shall not be charged.
1. Should the Contractor neglect or
refuse to replace rejected articles or to
supply any of the articles contracted
for at the times stated in the requisi-
tions, the Head of Department or Offi-
cer in charge, shall be at liberty to
purchase the said articles from other
persons; and the difference between
the price paid for such articles and the
contract price shall be deducted from
the next payment made io the Con-
tractor.
7. The Head of Department or Offi-
cer in charge may, if. he should deem it
necessary, purchase articles of perish-
able food such as bread, meat, etc., at
once to replace rejected articles.
8. All fresh meat contracted for
ml'.,t be slaughtered in the Slaughter-
house in Kingstown.
9. If the Contractor should persist
in zuch irregularities as stated in para-
graph 6. the Administrato-, shall have
te power to terminate the contract
immediately or at such time as may
appear to him proper and convenient.
10. The contract may be terminated
at any .time by one month's notice being

CONVEYANCE OF MAILS, PARCELS,
PASSENGERS AND CARGO (LEEWARD).
Tenders will be received up to 3 p.m.
on Friday 26th August, 1955, for the
conveyance daily of mails, including
Parcel Post mails from, to, and between
each and all the Post Offices of Kings-
town, Layou, Barrouallie, Cumberland,
Troumaca, Cliateaubelair and Questelles
on the Leeward Coast of the Island of
St. Vincent by Motor Launch from let
January to 31st December, 1966.
2. The Motor Launch will be required
to leave Clhateaubelair at abcut 7 a.m.
daily except on the Thursday follow-
ing the first Wed nesday of each month,
and to return to Chateaubelair leaving
Kingstown about 3.00 p.m. daily except
on the first Wednesday only of each
month. On: the first Wednesday of
each month the Launch will be required
to leave Kingstown for Chateaubelair at
about 1.30 p.m. and return to Kings-
town the same evening leaving Chateau-
helair at 7.00 p.m. The hours of leav-
ing Chateaubelaiir and Kingstown may
he modified by the Colonial Postmaster.
3. The Motor Launch will be required
to provide a service for the carriage of
passengers ani cargo at the present fixed
rites wliich will 1h: supplied to intended
Tenders, if require d, on application at
Government Office and to call on the
itinerary in each direction at Clare
Valley for this purpose and for the pur-
pose of collecting the mails from and
deliverinisz the mails to Questelles Post
Office.
4. All mails will be delivered at and
collected from the General Post Office,
and District Post Offices except that
where such provision is made mails
m:iy be delivered to :nd collected from
the mail carriers of' the District Post
Offices.
5. The contract will he for a period
of one vye:r to 31st December. 1956.

VACANCY FOR INSPECTOR OF LABOUR
(FACTORIES).
Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
vacant post of Inspector of Labour
(Factories), Labour Department, British
Guiana.
2. The post is pensionable and on the
salary scale A 4: $4,560 x $240-$5,760 per
annum.
3 The successful candidate will be re-
quired to pass the usual medical exam-
ination for admission to the Public
Service and confirmation in the appoint-
:nent is subject to satisfactory work and
conduct during a probationary period of

qualification in Mechanical and/
or Electrical Engineering (e.g.

AN ORDINANCE further to amend the Passepger Boats Ordin-
ance, Cap. 201.

Enacted'by the Legislature of Saint Vincent.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Passenger Boats
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1955, and shall be read as one with
the Passenger Boats Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the
principal Ordinance) and all amendments thereto.
2. Section 6 of the principal Ordinance as repealed and
replaced by Section 2 of Ordinance No. 25 of 1946 is hereby
further amended:-
(a) by adding the words "or persons" between the Words
"person" and "as" appearing in the sixth line of sub-
section (1) thereof;
(b) by deleting the word "either" appearing in the second
line of subsection (2) thereof and replacing it with
the word "any".
