NOTICE OF ACQUISITION
(Under sections 3 4 & 7 of the Ordinance).
WHEREAS it was decided by the Governor in Council that a strip of land
six feet wide in Lot 84 at Park Hill in the Parish of Charlotte, bounded on the
West by Lot 83 and on the East by the remainder of Lot 84 and extending
from the road on the South to Lot 87 oin the North, should be acquired for a
public purpose, to wit, the provision of a right of way to Lot 87.
AND WHEREAS it is necessary that a survey of the strip be made and the
boundaries demarcated;
Now, THEREFORE, this is to require all persons interested to allow the author-
ised officer (and his agents, .assistants and workmen):-
a) to enter upon and survey the strip intended to be acquired

TELEPHONE (AMENDItENT) REGULATE
(Gazetted 28th June, 1965).
1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Telephone
(Amendment) Regulations, 1955, and shall be read as one with the Telephone
Regulations, (S. R. & 0. 1941, No. 59) (hereinafter referred to as the principal
Regulations) and all amendments thereto.
2. Amendment of Regulation 17. Regulation 17 of the principal
Regulations is hereby amended by deleting the full stop at -the end thereof
and adding the following:-j

KINGSTOWN BOARD (MARKET) BY-LAW
(Gazetted 28th June 1955).
1. Short title. These By-Laws may be cited as the Kingstown Board
(Market) By-Laws, 1955.
2. Interpretation. In these By-Laws, unless the context otherwise
requires-
"Agent of the Board" means the Warden, any Officer, or Servant of the
Board, or any Constable;
"Board" means the Kingstown Board;,
"Butcher" means any man who carries on the trade of a butcher and
who sells meat in a stall rented from the Board: i
"Butcher's Assistant" means any person who helps in the selling of
meat or otherwise, in a stall of the Meat Market on behalf of a .butcher;
"Constable" means a Police, or Rural Constable;
"Disposal" means sale, barter, offering, or exposing for sale or barter,
or causing to be offered or exposed for sale or barter;
"Disposal of" means sell, barter, or offer or expose for sale or barter,
or cause to be sold, bartered or offered or exposed for sale or barter;
"Dog" means' a dog of either sex or any age;
"Fish" means any kind of fish other than shell fish;
"Food" includes every article used for food or drinkkby man or beast;
"Goods" means .and includes merchandise of every description other
than produce; *
"Huckster" means any person who in any street or public place in
Kingstown and within one mile of the boundaries of the said Town shall
carry for disposal or dispose of any goods, save and except vendors solely
of produce;
"Loiterer" includes any person in, or about the market-
(a) For any idle, lewd, vicious, or disorderly purpose; or
(b) Otherwise than in the regular performance, or in pursu-
ance, of some lawful calling or object; or
(c) To the annoyance or obstruction of any person therein; or
(d) Who does not leave the market when lawfully required so
to do by any agent of the Boardc; or
(e) Who, not having any authority to remain there, fails to
quit the market at the hour of closing; or Who is found therein after
such hour;
"Market" means the square opposite the Court House in Kingstown
included within Bedford Street orn the North, Grenville Street on the East,
Hillsboro Street on the South and extending to the Sea-Beach on the West
as .far as low water mark, and shall include the Vegetable Market, Fish
and Meat, Markets,' the Slaughter House and all buildings, premises, sheds,
pavements, steps and approaches thereto, counters, squares, stalls, stands
and tables used or to be used by the Board for market purposes, within-
thlk said area;
"Market Clerk" means any person appointed by 'the Board as such, and
shall include any duly authorised person acting in his place;
"Meat" includes-the flesh, bones, heart, liver, lungs, tripe, or any part
whatsoever of the carcase, whether the same be fresh, corned, salted or
otherwise, of any pig, or (the hide, horns and hoofs excepted) of any
bull, ox, steer, cow, heifer, calf, goat, kid, sheep, or lamb;
"Bassage-way" means such open space in the Vegetable and Fish and
Meat Markets behind stalls or stands appointed for the use only of sellers
in going to or from, or while attending at, their stalls or stands;
"Produce" means and includes ground provisions, onions, potatoes,
starch, farine, peanuts, breadfruit, sugar cane, fruit and every article of
food found, produced or grown in this or any other West Indian Island;
"Public Place" includes the Kingstown Rivers and the banks thereof,
or any wharf, road, street, side-walk, promenade, square, or other place
whatsoever appropriated or dedicated to the use of the public;
"Refuse" includes animal refuse, blood, offal, dirt, leavings, filth, shav-
ings, sawdust, broken bottles, and debris of any kind or description what-
soever;
"Seller" when used in connection with the expression 'stall' shall include
one assistant, and when used in connection with the expressions 'stand'
or 'square' shall include a substitute;
"Stall", "Stand", "Square", "Space", "Tables", "Counter", mean respec-
tively such place in the market as may from time to time be appointed
as such;
"Town" means the 'Bown of Kingstown;
"Warden" means the Warden of Kingstown and shall include any duly
authorised person acting for the Warden;
"Walk" means such open place in the Vegetable and Fisb and Meat
Markets between stalls or stands, or between the sides of the buildings and
stalls or stands, for the use of buyers and other .persons.
3. Opening of Market. The Market shall be open to the public as
under:
On Vegetable and Meat Markets from
Saturday 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
Fish Market from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On
Sunday, Bank Holidays, and days Vegetable, Fish and Meat Markets
proclaimed Public Holidays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.;
On
Other Week-days Vegetable and Meat Markets from
6.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.;
on
Other Week-days
Fish Market from 6.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
4. Closing of Market. With respect to the closing of the market,
one notice bell shall be rung, one half hour before the closing thereof, and a
closing bell 'at the closing hour when every person shall forthwith leave the
market except such persons as may be authorised by the B.oard to remain
there.
5. Market Clerk. The Market Clerk shall be appointed by the
Board: Provided that in the.case of his sickness, or absence on leave, the
Warden, with the approval of the Chairman of the BQard, shall appoint some
person 'to perform the duties of his office temporarily, pending an appoint-
ment by the Board.
6. General Duties of Market Clerk. The Market Clerk shall:-
(a) Be subject to the directions of the Warden;
(b) Have the general superintendence and charge of the market, and shall
be responsible for the due and proper management thereof;
(c). Attend at the market during the hours that the same shall be open;
(d) Attend the slaughter house at such times and under such conditions
as may be fixed by such rules as the Board may make from time to
time for the regulation of the slaughter house and with respect to
the slaughtering of animals;
(e) Inspect and cause to be verified all scales, weights, and measures, of
any description whatsoever, used in the market, and shall see that the
same are in conformity with the standard;
(f) Keep a correct list and account of all property delivered to him for
the use of the market, and be responsible for the same;
(g) Make up and enter into books every day an account, under distinct
and separate heads, of all his receipts for such day;
(h) Keep such other books as may be necessary for a proper record of
the transactions of his office;
(i) Pay into the Board's Office all sums he may have in hand every day
not being a Sunday, Bank Holiday, or day proclaimed a Public Holiday,
not later than 11 a.m.;
(j) Produce his books, or any property under his charge, whenever called
upon so to do by the Warden, and shall give to the Warden all such
information as he may require in respect of such books and property;
(k) Make a monthly report of the working of the market to the Warden
who shall submit the information to the Board.
7. General Powers of Market Clerk. The Market Clerk may
arrest or eject from the market, provided that such ejectment shall not be a
bar to any subsequent criminal proceedings, or cause to be arrested or ejected
from the market by any constable, servant of the Board or other person:-
(a) Any disorderly person, or person acting indecently, or person dirtily
or indecently dressed, or using obscene, abusive, or insulting language,
or swearing, or behaving in a manner calculated to disturb the peace
of the market;
() Any person contravening these By-laws;
) Ay person afflicted with leprosy,. yaws, sores, or any loathsome dis-
ease whatsoever.
8. Inspection of Books. The Warden shall inspect the books men-
tioned in paragraph (g) of Section 6 of this By-law, once a day at least in
such a manner and at such times as may be convenient to him.
9. Payment of Slaughter House Dues. Every person for whom
is slaughtered any of the animals mentioned in the First Schedule to these
By-Laws shall, after the meat or turtle ij weighed and before it is removed
from the slaughter-house, pay to the Market Clerk slaughter-house dues, in
respect thereto, at the rate specified in the said Schedule.
10. Receipt. The Market Clerk, shall, on receipt of such sums. as' he
shall be entitled to claim for slaughter-house dues give a receipt, in this By-law
called a Slaughter-house dues receipt, for the same.
11. Ticket Dues-Sale in Town. No person shall dispose of any
produce in the Town until after such produce has been brought to the -market,
and market dues referred to in the Second Schedule to these By-laws have been
paid in respect thereto.
12. Possession of Market Ticket. '(1) No person shall dispose of
any produce in the Town except at his own store, shop, or residence, without
having in his possession a market ticket obtained in respect thereto.
(2) Every person disposing of produce in the Town, except at his own store,
shop, or residence, shall produce his market ticket to any agent of the Board,
immediately on being required so to do.
13. Sale in Market. Every person who brings any produce to the mar-
ket for disposal, shall, on each, occasion of his so doing, pay in advance to the
Market Clerk, Market Dues, in this By-law called Ticket Dues, in respect theie-
to, at the rate specified in the Second Schedule to these By-laws.
14. Market Ticket. The Market Clerk shall, on receipt of such
sums as he shall be entitled, to claim for ticket dues under the Second Sched-
ule to these By-laws give a ticket, in this By-law called a market ticket, for
the same.
15. Rights of Ticket Holders. Every market ticket shall entitle
the holder--
(a) To the use of a stand or square ..n the market until the closing there-
of on the day of issue; or
(b) To dispose of such produce in any part of the Town outside 'the.
market during that day: Provided that such ticket shall not entitle
him after he has once left. the market with such produce to use
again any stand or square in te market without further payment.
16. Stand Dues for Period longer than one day. Every person,
who desires to use a stand for a longer period than one day, shall,'before using
such stand, pay to the Market Clerk Market 'Dues, in this By-law called Stand
Dues, in respect thereto, at the rate specified in the Second Schedule to- these
By-laws.

17. Stand Dues Receipt. The Market Clerk shall, on receipt 6f such
sums as he shall be entitled to claim for Stand Dues under the Second Sched-
ule to these By-laws, give a receipt, in this By-law called a Stand-Dues Receipt,
for the same.
18. Contents of Receipt. (1) Every Stand-Dues Receipt shall state:-
(a) The name of the person on whose behalf it has been applied for;
(b) The amount for which it has been issued;
(c) The number of the stand in respect of which it is issued;
(d) The period during which such stand is to be used.
(2) Every Stand-Dues receipt shall entitle the person mentioned therein
to use the stand designated therein during the period stated therein and not
otherwise.
19. Stall Dues-Use of Stall. (1) Every person being a butcher or
fish vendor who desires to use a stall shall, before using such stall-
(a) Apply in writing to the Warden for the use of a Stall;
(b) Pay at the Board's Office the Stall Dues in respect therete at the rate
specified in the Second Schedule to these By-laws;
(c) Receive a Stall Dues Receipt.
(2) Every Stall-Dues Receipt shall entitle the person mentioned therein
to use the stall designated therein during the period stated therein and not
otherwise.
(3) Every Stall-Dues Receipt shall be :;or the current calendar month:
Provided a person if he so desires may pay dues for a quarter or half year in
advance.
20. Renewal, Every penon using a stall, who desires to continue
using the same for a further period, shall:-
(a) Apply in writing to the Warden for such further period-three days at
least, before the expiration of the period during which his use is to con-
tinue; and
(b) Obtain from the Board's Office his receipt for the said stall, on, or before,
the first day of the ensuing month; otherwise such stall may be granted
to another applicant.
21. Production of Receipt. No person shall use a stall:-
(a) Without having previously paid for and obtained a Stall-Dues Re-
ceipt therefore; or
(b) Before producing his Stall-Dues Receipt to the Market Clerk; or
(e) After the expiration of the period mentioned in any Stall-Dues Re-
ceipt issued in respect of such stall.
22. Sale of Animals. No person ,hall dispose of or expose for sale
any live-stock or turtle in any street or in any public place in Kingstown or
within one mile of the limits thereof other than in the Market, or other place
approved by the Board, provided that nothing herein contained snall extend

to prevent any person from disposing of any live-stock privately or in the
course of any auction of general effects.
23. Payment of DueO. Every person, who desires to dispose of any
live-stock or turtle shall pay to the Market Clerk Market Dues, in this By-law
called Animal Dues, in respect thereto, at the rate specified in the Third Sched-
ule to these By-laws.
24. Animal Dues Receipt. '11he Market Clerk shall, on receipt of
such sums as he shall be entitled to claim for animal dues under the Third
Schedule to these By-Laws, give a receipt, called an Animal-Dues Receipt, for
the same.
25. Sale of Charcoal. No person shall dispose of any charcoal in
the Town until after such charcoal has been brought to the Market, and mar-
ket dues have been paid in respect thereto.
26. Payment of Dues. Every person, who brings any charcoal to
the market shall pay in advance to the Market Clerk Market Dues, in this By-
law called Charcoal Dues, in respect thereto, at the rates specified in the Fourth
Schedule to these By-laws.
27. Charcoal Ticket. The Market Clerk shall, on receipt of such
sums as he shall be entitled to claim for Charcoal Dues under the Fourth Sched-
ule to these By-laws give a ticket, in this By-law called a Charcoal Ticket, for
the same.

28. Rights Qf Ticket Holders. Every Charcoal. Ticket shall en-
title the holder to introduce into that part of the market appointed for disposal
of charcoal in original packages one package of charcoal, the contents of
which shall not exceed 7 "pans", and to dispose of same as an original package.
29. Production of Ticket. (1) Every person, who carries away any
original package of charcoal from the market, shall have in his possession
while carrying the same in the Town, the Charcoal Ticket given in respect
thereto.
(2) Every person shall produce such ticket to any agent of the Board
immediately on his being required so to do.
30. Sale in Town. No person shall dispose of any Charcoal in the
Town, except at his own store, shop, or residence, without having in nis pos-
session a Charcoal or Market Ticket obtained in respect thereto.
31. Sale otherwise than in original package. Every person
who desires to dispose of charcoal in the market otherwise than as an original
package shall-
(a) pay Ticket Dues in respect thereto as provided in the Second Sched-
ule to these By-laws;

(b) be entitled to receive a Market Ticket for the same as provided .in
the Second Schedule to these By-laws; and
(c) be entitled by virtue of such ticket-
(i) to the use of a square in that part of the market appointed for
the sale of charcoal, until the closing of the market, on the day
of issue of such ticket; or
(ii) to dispose of puch charcoal in any part of the Town outside the
market durifig that day: Provided that such ticket shall not
entitle him after he has once left the market with such char-
coal to use again any such square in the market without fur-
ther payment.
32. Huckster's Licence. No person shall be a "Huckster" until
after the licence fee as specified in the Fifth Schedule to these By-laws has been
paid at the Board's" Office.
33. lBights of Licensee. Every such licence shall entitle the person
mentioned therein to be ,a "Huckster" during the period stated therein and not
otherwise.
34. Fees payable. by Wholesalers. (1) All persons bringing pro-
duce, or wood from other parts of the Colony, for disposal in the Town by bags,
barrels, bunches or in quantities from boats, vessels, launches or other craft
or from carts or other vehicles or from animals, shall pay the fees specified
in the "Fourth Schedule to these By-laws.
(2) It shall be the duty of every person to make the required payment
to the Market Clerk before any such article is disposed of.
35. Duties of Servants of the Board. No Officer or servant of
the Board, shall be interested in any manner in-
(a) the disposal of slaughtered animals; or
Pb) the disposal of the meat of such animal; or
(c) the disposal of any fish, or turtle brought to the market.
36. Licence for Slaughter. No person shall, without the written
permission of the Warden-
(a) Slaughter, or cause to be slaughtered, in the Town, or within one mile
thereof, any of the animals mentioned in the First Schedule to these
By-laws, except a slaughter-man licensed by the Board who shall
slaughter the same at the Board's Slaughter House;
(b) take any meat or turtle from the Board's Slaughter Holise elsewhere
than to the Stalls.
37. Bringing Meat etc. within Town Limits. (1) No person shall
bring or cause to be brought into the Town or within one mile thereof for dis-
posal any meat or turtle slaughtered elsewhere than at trle Boar 's Slaughter.
House.
(2) Sale within limits. No person shall dispose of at any place in the Town,
or within one mile thereof, other than at the stalls licensed by the Board for
the purpose-
(a) Any meat other than at a meat stall:
Provided that-
(i) Imported meat other than fresh mea', may be disposed of in
shops and stores;
(ii) Whalemeat may be sold elsewhere in the market as determined
by the Warden or Market Clerk.
(b) Any turtle other than at a meat, or fish stall;
(c) Any description of fish other than at, a lish stall: Provided that-
(iD Imported fish other than fresh fish, may be disposed of in
shops and stores;
(ii) corned fish or Black Fish may be sold elsewhere in ibe market
as determined by the Warden or Market Clerk.
38. Dress of Vendors., Every seller of meat, turtle, or fish shall be
cleanly dressed and wear a clean apron.
39. Cleanliness of Helpers. Every person who carries meat. turtle,
or fish into the market, shall be cleanly dressed.
40. Blocks for chopping Meat etc. No person shall chop meat,
turtle, or fish, except on th# blocks provided for the purpose.
41. Licence for Butchers etc. (1) Every person who desires to be
a butcher, butcher's assistant, fish vendor or slaughterman shall:--
(a) Apply in writing to the Warden for a licence;
(b) forward a Medical Certificate of fitness along with such application;
(c) pay at the Board's Office the licence fee prescribed in the Fifth Sched-
ule to these By-laws;
(d) receive a receipt for same.
(2) Expiration of Certificate of Fitness. Medical Certificates of fitness
shall expire half-yearly on 30th June and 31st December in each year.
42. Butcher's Assistant subject to Regulations. A Butcher may
have an assistant to help in the sale of meat or otherwise and every such assist-
ant shall be subject to the regulations concerning butchers.
43. Beaching of boats, weighing etc. (a) Boats bringing cargoes
of fresh or corned fish intended for sale in the Town shall, on arrival, be beached
only on that portion of the sea frontage appointed for that purpose, and all such
fish shall be brought immediately to the Fish market.
(b) All fish, fresh, or corned, brought by launches, vessels, buses or other
vehicles, or otherwise and intended for sale in the Town shall be carried imme-
diately to the Fish Market.
(C) All Such fl8h Shall be weighed, and upon being weighed, the dues speci-
fied in the Sixth Schedule to these By-laws shall be forthwith paid to the Market
Clerk.

44. Warden may refuse application for Stall. The Warden, or
the Market Clerk, may refuse any application for any. stall, stand, or square in
the market.
45. Use by one person. No stall, stand, or square shall be rented, or
used by more than one person at the same time.
46. Advertising. No person shall-
(a) Advertise his wares, or the prioe*thereof, at hiis stall, stand or square
in the market, otherwise than by means of labels, or placards;
(b) Leave his stall, stand, or square for the purpose of soliciting custom;
(c) use any counter in the market for the purpose of chopping;
(d) use any stall, stand. or square for any purpose other than that for
which it is appointed.
47. Cleanliness of Stall. Every seller shall-
(a) Before leaving the market for the day thoroughly cleanse to the sat-
isfaction of the Market Clerk his stall, stand or square as well as
his counter, tools and other trade appliances, and shall remove all
refuse therefrom and place the same in the receptacle. provided for
the purpose;
(b) keep his stall, stand, or square, and tools and all other trade appli-
ances in thorough cleanliness at all times.
48. Seller to remaih behind Stall. Every seller at a stall, stand,
or square shall remain in the seller's section behind such stall, stand, or square
while attending to the business of the same.
49. Goods to be in appointed place. All produce and goods
brought to the Market for disposal shall be deposited or placed only in those
parts of the Market appointed for the disposal of such, produce or goods.
50. Proper use of Stall. No person shall-
(a) At any time keep in any fish stall anything except fish, or turtle;
S(b) dispose of, at any fish stall, anything but fish or turtle;
(c) at any time keep in any meat sLall anything except meat, or turtle;
(d) dispose of, at any meat stall, anything but meat, or turtle;
(e) without the permission of the Warden or Market Clerk be in any
meat, or fish stall, except the seller and his assistant.
51. Liability of Licensee. The Licensee of every stall shall be lia-
ble for any offence committed in respect of such stall.
52. Termination of rental for Non-User. Should a butcher to
whom a stall is rented in the meat market not make use of such tall for the
sale of meat for seven consecutive dayo the Warden, unless he is satisfied
that failure to make use of the said stall was due to illness or to some other
sufficient cause may-

(a) terminate the butcher's rental of the stall by seven days' notice in
writing, and
(b) inform the butcher in writing that his licence as a butcher is can-
celled, and his licence shall be deemed to be cancelled accordingly
53. Ticket Holder or substitute to occupy Stand. No person
other than the holder of a ticket for a stand or square, or his substitute, shall
occupy or use the same.
54. Production of Market Ticket. Every seller at a stand or
square shall produce his market ticket or receipt to any agent ol the Board
immediately on being required so to do.
55. Seller to keep within area. Every seller shall keep all pro-
duce belonging to him only on or under the counter of his stand, or within
the area of his square, and shall not exceed these prescribed limits.
56. Liability of Ticket Holder. Every ticket holder shall be
liable for any offence committed in respect of his stand or square.
57. Seizure by Market Officers. It shall be lawful for the Mar-
ket Clerk or other Market Officer to seize as forfeited-
(.a) Anything found on or about any stand or square where no ticket or
receipt is produced by any person in respect of such stand or square;
(b) anything found after the closing of the market on or about any stand'
not being a stand taken by the week or about any square;
(c) anything found at any time on any walks or passageways 'of the
market.
58. Sale and disposal of Proceeds. All articles seized, un ess
claimed within 24 hours after seizure, shall be disposed of by the Market Clerk and
the proceeds, if any, shall be paid into the Board.
59. Retail by weight. (1) Every article retailed by weight shall be
properly weighed and in all cases of dispute in respect of weight, the sellr
shall, if required so to do by the purchaser, cause the article about which such
dispute arises to be weighed in the presence of the Warden, Market Clerk or
other Market Officer.
(2) No person shall by any contrivance or device, or in any manner what-
ever, tamper with any scale, balance, beam or weight in the market whether
such scale, balance, beam, or weight be the property of, or in the possession
of, or under the control of, such person or not.
60. Seizure of Unwholesonm% Food. The Market Clerk shall keize
and detain all food in the market which, in his opinion, is of a bad or unwhole-
some quality and shall immediately summon an Officer of the Public Health
Department who shall determine what shall be done with the food in question.
63
61. Discretion of Warden. Any person may, on payment of the dues
imposed by these By-laws and subject to the discretion of the Warden, dispose
of anything in the market which he is not permitted by these By-laws to dis-
pose of therein.
62. Discretion of Warden. No person resorting to the market as
buyer or seller, or otherwise shall at any time refuse, neglect or omit to comply
with any reasonable directions of the Warden, Market Clerk or other Market
Officer for the maintenance of order or regularity or for carrying any By-laws
into effect.
-63. Dogs prohibited. No person shall bring a dog, or permit any dog
to follow him into the market or attend or be with him in the market and it
shall be lawful for the Market Clerk or other Market Officer to eject or cause
to be ejected any dog found therein.
64. Board's decision final. The Warden shall have the power to sus-
pend or cancel the licence of any licensed person infringing these By-laws,
pending a meeting of the Board whose decision shall be final.
65. Miscellaneous Offences. No person shall-
(a) Advertise in any part of the market outside of any stall;
(b) Being a female go into, make use of, or be in any urinn.1 or latrine
provided for the use of males;
(c) Be a loiterer in, or about the market;
(d) Being a male go into, make use of, or be in any urinal or latrine
.provided for the use of females;
(e) Be in the market during the hours that the market is not open to
the public;
(f) Break, cut, pull down, destroy, remove, injure or spoil any part of
the Market;
(g) Commit a nuisance in, on, or at, any part of the Market;
(h) Dispose of, in any part of the market, anything other than that
which is allowed at such. part for the time being;
(i) Dispose of, in any part of the market not being a stall, stand, or
square any article whatsoever;
(j) Fight, or create, or cause to be created any row, riot, or disturb-
ance in the market;
(k) Introduce, dispose of, or consume, any wine, malt liquor, spirits
or intoxicants of any kind in the market;
(1) Light any fire in the market, or cook therein, except in such parts
thereof and under such conditions as may be from time to- time
pointed out and allowed by the Board;
(m) Post up any. bill, poster or placard on any part of the market build-
ing;
(n) Push, pull or carry any cart, hand cart or wheel-barrow into any
of the market buildings without the permission of the Warden or
Market Clerk;
(o) Remove refuse from any part of the market in such a manner as
to create a nuisance i the process of removal;

(p) Sharpen any instrument on any part of the market structure;
(q) Sit or lie on any block, counter, table, or stand in the market, or
on the pavement thereof;
(r) Smoke or spit in the market;
(s) Solicit custom, or cause the same to be done in any part of the
market not being a stall, stand, or square;
(t) Throw any dirt, filth, rubbish; or litter in the market;
(u) Use any obscene, abusive, or insulting language, or swear, or other-
wise misbehave in the market;
(v) Use any urinal otherwise than -or the purpose' for which it is
intended;
(w) Without the consent of the Warden or Market Clerk, deposit, or
throw anything in or on, any part of the market not appointed for
disposal of goods;
(x) Without the permission of the Warden or Market Clerk" take and
carry out of the market water from the taps therein. '.
66. Non-Liability of the Board and of the Officers thereof.
Neither the Board nor any of the Officers or servants thereof shall be respon-
sible for the loss of or damage to any property left in the market.
67. Penalty. Every person who shall offend against any of the pro-
visions of the foregoing By-laws shall be liable for every such offence to a
penalty not exceeding forty-eight dollars.
68. Repeals. The By-laws made by the Kingstown Board on the 12th
September, 1944, and all amendments thereto, for regulating and controlling
the Market are hereby repealed.

1. Short title. This notice may be cited as the Saint Vincent Banana
Association Limited (Cessation of Powers) Notice, 1955.
2. Cessation of Powers of the Company. it is thereby notified
that .the Governor in Council in pursuance of the powers conferred upon him
by subsection. (2) of section 41 of the Banana Growers Association Ordinance,
1954 (No. 44 of 1954) doth hereby direct that the powers conferred upon the
Saint Vincent Banana Association Limited by the said Ordinance shall come
to an end on the 31st day of October, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-five.

VILLA AIRPORT (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS.

1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Villa Airport
(Amendment) Regulations, 1955, and shall be read as one with the Villa Airport
Regulations, 1953, (S.R. & 0. 1953, No. 17) (hereinafter referred to as the prin-
cipal Regulations ).
2. Regulation 4 of principal Regulations amended. Regulation
4 of the principal Regulations is hereby amended oy inserting between the
words "or to" and the word "the" appearing in line 5 thereof the words "the
Chief of Police or".
3. Regulation 14 of principal Regulations' amended. Regulation
14 of the principal Regulations is hereby amended by deleting the words "Super-
intendent of Works" appearing in line 3 thereof and substituting therefore the
words "Chief of Police".

effective on such date as may be appointed by the Governor by proclamation

AMD WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the repeal of) the said Ordinances
shall become effective on the 1st day of July, One thousand nine hundred and
fifty-five:
