DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR NOTICES.
WAGE-RATES FOR INDUSTRIA L WORKERS.
It is hereby notified for general information that-
'As from the 16th July, 1951, and until further notice the minimum rate of
wages to be paid to able-bodied industrial workers when employed on time-work
(or its equivalent in piece-work) shall be :-
In the town of Kingstown and with a radius of two miles thereof :
(a) not less than $1.01 for a day of 8 hours' work to a man.
(b) not less than 80 for a day of 8 hours' work to a woman.
(c) not less than 76 for a day of 8 hours' work to a male industrial
worker under the age of 18 years and over the age of 14 years.
(d) not less than 60Q for a day of 8 hours' work to a female industrial
worker under the age of 18 years and over the age of 14 years.
In all other areas :
(a) .not less than 854 for a day of 8 hours' work to a man
(b) not less than 64 for a day of 8 hours' work to a woman.
(c) not less than 64t for a day of 8 hours' work to a. male industrial
worker under the age of 18 years and over the age of 14 yeats.
(d) not less than 48S for a day of 8 hours' work to a female industrial
worker under the age of 18 years and over the age of 14 yeams.
2. The above rates include a, bonus of thirty-three and one third per cent.
3. The minimum overtime rate to be paid to an industrial worker is as.
follows :-
In the town of Kingstown
and within a radius of

(1) On normal working
days (after 8 hours of

4. The definition of "industrial worker" means any unskilled worker
employed in or about any factory engaged in the process of agricultural products,
or in the preparation of local produce for shipment or local sale on any produce
dealers premises, but shall not be applicable in cases of contracts of service
approved by the Labour Commissioner for periods of one month or more.

(d) not less than 48 for a day of 8 hours' work to a female agricultural
worker under the age of 18 years and over the age of 14 years.

DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR (INDUSTRIAL WORKERS)
(AMENDMENT) ORDER.
(Gazetted 12th July, 1951.)
1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Department of Labour
(Industrial Workers) (Amendment) Order, 1951, aid shall be read as one with the
SDepartm'ent of Labour (Industrial Workers) Order, 1951, (S. R. & O. 1951, No. 20)
(hereinafter referred toas the principal Order).
2. Section 3 of principal Order amended. Subsection (3) of section
3 of the principal Order is hereby amended by substituting the words thirty-three
and one-third for the words twenty-five appearing in the third line thereof.
3. Commencement. This Order shall come into operation on the 16th
day of July, 1951.
Made by the Governor in Council under section 5(1)' of the"Department of
Labour Ordiiance, 1942, ('No. 14 of 1942) this 11th day of July, 1951.

WORKERS) (AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER.
(Gazetted 12th July, 1951.).
1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Department of Labour
(Agricultural Workers) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1951, and shall be read as one
with the Department of Labour (Agricultural Workers) Order, 1943, (S. R. & 0.
1943, No. 18) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order) and all amendments
thereto.
2. Section 3 of Principal Order amended. section 3 of the
principal Order as replaced by section 3 of the Department of Labour (Agricultural
Workers) (Amendment) Order, 1951,' (S. R. & O. 1951, No. 21) is hereby'amended
by substituting the words thirty-three and one third for the words "twenty-five"
appearing in the third line of the first proviso thereto.
3. Commencement. This Order shall come into force on the 16th day of
July, 1951.
Made by the Governor in Council under section 5(1) of the Department of
Labour Ordinance (No. 14 of 1942) this 11th day of July, 1951.
