With reference to Government Notice
No. 528 of 22nd November, 1919, it is no-
tified for general information that His
Majesty the King has now approved the
observance of his birthday in 1950 on
FRIDAY, the 9th JUNE, which has been
declared a Bank Holiday.
The following is the Official Pro-
gramme relating to the Ceremonial for
the King's Birthday Parade to take
place at the Market Square, Kingstown.
[The Units to take part in the Parade
will be :-
Detachment of St. Vincent Police Force.
Detachment of St. Vincent Grammar
School Cadets.
The St. Vincent Volunteer Fire Brigade.
The St. Vincent Legion of the British
Empire Service League, the Boy Scouts
and the Girl Guides have been invited
to attend.]
8.30 a.m.-Parade will march from Po-
lice Headquarters to the Mar-
ket Square.
9.00 a.m.- (i) His Honour the Admin-
istrator arrives at the
Market Square.
(ii) Inspection of Parade.
(iii) Marcht Past of Parade-
Administrator takes the
Salute.


(iv) Royal Standard broken
accompanied by Royal
Salute.


(v) Three Cheers for His-
Majesty the King.
(vi) Closing stages of Cere-
monial.
Members of the Executive and Legisla-
tive Councils, Members of the Kings-
town Board, Ministers of Religion and all
public officers and their wives are invited
to be present.
A cordial invitation is also extended to,

" LONDON CALLING" is now divided
nto two editions, eastern and western;
both contain information of all overseas
wave-lengths and times, but they each
give detailed information for eastern
and western zones to the advantage of
:he listeners specifically concerned.
The magazine pages are being maintain-
ed at a consistently high level, support-
ed by well-produced pictures of topical
events, while another innovation is the
introduction of advertisements of well-
established British commodities.
Should any person or organisation
require further information regarding
subscription for this very instructive
and interesting publication, this may
be obtained on application to the Gov-
ernment Secretary, Government Office.

DECLARATION OF INFECTED AREA.

I hereby declare, iniaccordance with
the Importation of Animals (Diseases
Prevention.) Ordinance,, 1933 (No. 2 of
1933),. under which this Notice is given,
that owing to an outbreak of Swine Fever
at Choppins situate in the parish of St.
George, this place, namely, Choppins, is
an infected place, and the following.
area, that is to say, that part of the
pa ish of St. George dfii.ed belcw,* is
an infected area. The movement of
persons and animals. carcasses, fodder,
litter, dung, utensils and any such thing
out of and into the maid area shall be
subject to the said Ordinance and the
Rg~oglations made thereunder.

Secretary. The recent practice of pass-
ing them to him through friends is very
unreliable.

ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT NOTICE.

1. It is hereby further notified for
general information that no additional
consumers can be connected to the exist-
ing electricity system and no additional
load can be undertaken.
2. The engines are old and besides be-
ing overloaded are at times subject to
abnormal working conditions due to in-
adequate plant capacity. The Adminis-
tration is however making every effort
to expedite the installation of new plant.
3. Consumers presently connected
are accordingly requested to curtail the
use of electricity particularly during the
peak period-6.30 to 9.30 p.m. and so as-
sist in tiding over present difficulties
with regard to electricity supply until
the new Hydro-Electric Scheme is in op-
eration.
4. The engines being old, the risk of
breakdown is greater. More mainten-
ance is required to reduce that risk, and
the greater co-operation of everyone
concerned is essential, in order to keep
the service running.

ARROWROOT (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS.


(Gazetted 6th June, 1950.)



1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Arrowroot
(Ame:-dment) Regxulations, 1G50, and shall be read as one with the Regulations
made by the St. Vincent Co-Opcrative Arrowroot Association on the 14th day of
October, 1933, and confirmed by the Governor-in-Council on the 25th day of
November, 1933, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations) and all
amendments thereto.

2. Regulation 8 of principal Regulations revoked. Regulation 8
of the principal Regulations is hereby revoked.

3. Regulation 22 of principal Regulations revoked. Regulation
22 of the principal Regulations as revoked and replaced by the Arrowroot
(Aeendment) Regulations, 1948, (S.R. & 0., 1948 No. 51) is hereby revoked.

4. Revocation. The Arrowroot (Amendment) Regulations, 1948, (S.R. &
0. 1948 No. 51) ale hereby revoked.

of the Arrowroot Ordinance, 1930, (No. 15 of 1930) as replaced by the Arrowroot
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1949 (No. 7 of 1949) this Twenty-seventh day of May,
