Proclamation dated October 1, 1955, bringing into
; ea iocRD the Currency (Amendment) Act, 1955 (No.
20/1965).

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS.
A PROCLAMATION.

Acting Governor.

WHEREAS by section 5 of the Currency (Amendment)
Act, 1955 (No. 20/1955) it is provided that the said Act shall
come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor
by proclamation published in the Gazette.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Parricxk Donatp Macponaxp,
a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Acting Governor and Commander in Chief
in and over the Colony of the Leeward Islands and Vice
Admiral of the sume, do by this my proclamation declare that
the said Act shaN come into operation on the Ist day of
October, 1955.

AND all Her Majesty’s officers and loving subjects in the
Colony and.all others whom it may concern are hereby required
to take due notice hereof and to give their ready obedience
accordingly.

GIVEN at the Government House, Antigua, this
1st day of October, 1955, and in the fourth
year of Her Majesty’s reign.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN !

1955, parepD OcroBerR 1, 1955, MaDE BY ‘THE GOVERNOR
AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE Board OF COMMISSIONERS OF
CurrENCY, BRITISH CARIBBEAN ‘TERRITORIES (HASTERN GROUP)
AND WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE, UNDER
Section 5 (4) or THe Currency Act, 1950 (No. 4/1950).





1. Ciration. ‘These Regulations may be cited as the Currency
(Amendment of Second Schedule) Regulations, 1955.

2. AMENDMENT OF SEconp ScuEpuLe. For the Second Sched-
ule to the Currency Act, 1950 the following shall be substituted:—

“SECOND SCHEDULE.

Section 5 (8). Coins of the Eastern Group of the British Caribbean
Territories which are Legal Tender.
