ward Islands Free Tuition Scholarship,
Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture,
Trinidad, which is tenable for three years
subject to a satisfactory progress report.
This scholarship does not provide for
maintenance and other allowances and
applicants should give evidence of being
in a financial position to meet these de-
mands. Particulars of academic attain-
ments should also be stated.
All applications should be submitted to
the Government Secretary on or before
30th April 1950.

preside no longer over Colonial Office. It
has been my previlege to enjoy early 4
intensive years as Secretary of State
during one of the most difficult periods of
British history. I think an important
chapter in Colonial development has been
written. I cannot leave without thanking
you and all your colleagues in administra-
tive, technical and professional service for
your and their splendid loyalty and great
devotion in high tradition of your great
service. I want also to thank you all for
your fine co-operation with me and good-
will you have shown. In your respective
territories all of you are engaged with
heavy responsibility on work vitally imper-
tant to our generation. I thank you most
sincerely for Sour fine contribution.

NOTICE.

DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE,
DOMINICA, B: W. 1.
20th January 1950.
APPLICATIONS are invited for the post of
Agricultural Assistant (Agricultural Edu.
cation) in the Department of Agriculture,
Dominica, Windward Islands. Applicants
should hold a degree or diploma, and have
some experience in teaching agriculture
and related sciences.
Salary scale $1,680 x $96 $2,400 per
annum. If a car is required to be kept,
allowances in accordance with local regu-
lations will be paid. Subsistence allow-
ance will be paid at the rate of $3.60 per
day when away from Headquarters.
The Officer will be responsible for the
training of agricultural pupils in accord.
ance with an approved course of studies.
He- may also be called upon to organise
refresher courses for the Junior Staff of
the Agricultural Department.
Applicants should write to the Superin-
tendent, of Agriculture, Botanic Gardens,
Roseau, Dominica, enclosing details of
qualifications and experience, and two
recent testimonials.
