Notice is hereby given that the Minister
of Communications and Works in exercise of
the powers conferred upon him by section 82
of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1898, has ap-
pointed the Magistrates assigned to the sev-
eral Magisterial Districts tobe Receivers of
Wrecks in those Districts, and to perform the
functions conferred upon that office by the
Act.

In the case of a Magisterial District to
which more than one Magistrate has been as-
signed, any such Magistrate may perform the
"duties of a Receiver of Wreck in that District.

Resolved that the sum of ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHT
THOUSAND DOLLARS be granted from the Consolidated Fund and placed
at the disposal of the Government to supplement the Estimates, 1969-70,
Part II Capital as shown in the Supplementary Estimate, 1969-70 No. 2
which forms the Schedule to this Resolution and that the Senate be invited
to concur herein, and if concurred in,
Resolved that His Excellency the Governor-General be asked to
assent and take the necessary steps to give effect to this Resolution.

Government Notice


LAND SURVEYORS' EXAMINATION


The examination of candidates for a licence to act as a Land Surveyor under
the Surveyors (Land) Act 1890 (1890-10) as amended, will be held in July, 1969.

2. Applications for permission to sit the examination must reach the Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, before 14th June, 1969 and candidates must submit
with their applications the following documents -

(i) a certificate to the effect that the candidate has worked regularly and
continuously for not less than one year with a licensed Land Surveyor;
(ii) a Cambridge School Certificate or a General Certificate of Education or a
Certificate of such other examination of an equivalent or higher
standard as may be accepted by the examiners, or a certified copy of any
such Certificate;
(iii) testimonals of good character signed by not less than two well known and
responsible persons.

3. The minimum qualification is a pass in four subjects at Ordinary Level in the
General Certificate of Education or in a Certificate of another examination of
an equivalent or higher standard. The subjects passed must include Elemen-
tary Mathematics and English Language or English Literature.

4. No candidate will be allowed to sit the examination unless he has complied
with the above requirements.

5. A candidate who fails to comply with the requirement at sub-paragraph (i)
and (ii)of pragraph 2 shall not be disallowed to sit for the examination if the candidate shall,
prior to the date of the examination -

(a) satisfy the Cabinet that he has had practical experience for a period of
not less than one year of land survey work;

(b) pass such examination as may be required by the Cabinet.

6. Every candidate whose entry for the examination is accepted shall, prior to
the date fixed for the examination, pay to the Accountant General a fee of forty dollars and
shall forward the receipt for such fee to the Permanent Secretary.

7. A copy of the Syllabus of the examination is available at the Ministry of
Home Affairs (Room 19).

Applicants for this post must possess a B.Sc. in Nutrition (U.K. or the equi-
valent, e.g. Master's Degree from approved American University with
Nutrition as the major subject.
(b) HEALTH EDUCATION OFFICER
Applicants must possess an Honours Degree in Arts or Science andmust
either have qualifications in Health Education or be prepared to undergo a
Course of Training.

3. The appointment may be either permanent and pensionable or on contract and is
subject to medical fitness.

NOTICE OF WAGES REGULATION (SHOP ASSISTANTS) PROPOSALS


The Shops Wages Council established by virtue of the Wages Council
(Shops)Order, 1958, hereby gives notice in accordance with the provisions of
the Wages Council (Notices) (No. 2) Regulations 1959 of its intention to resub-
mit amended wages regulation proposals to the Minister responsible for
Labour.

2. Copies of the proposals may be obtained from theSecretary, Shops
Wages Council, C/o Labour Division, Ministry of Agriculture, Labour and
National Insurance, "Herbert House", Fontabelle, St. Michael.

3. Written representations with respect to the proposals may be sent at
any time within a period of fourteen days commencing with effect from the 19th
May, 1969 to the Secretary of the Shops Wages Council at the address stated in
paragraph 2 of this Notice.

Controls (Control of Prices) (Amendment) (No. 4)
Order, 1969.
2. The Schedule to the Control of Prices (De-

Order, 1966 is hereby further amended by deleting all
