THE INDUSTRIAL INCENTIVES ACT, 1963
(Section 6)
NOTICE

The Honourable PrimeMinister andMin-
ister of Finance pursuant to section 6 of the
Industrial Incentives Act, 1963, hereby gives
notice that he is about to be asked to consider
whether for the purposes of the abovemen-
tioned Act, a company to be registered as
Barbados Fibre Glass Ltd. should be declared
as an approved enterprise in respect of Fibre
Glass Boats at a Factory to be situated at
Waterford Factory, St. Michael.

Any person interested in the manufacture
or importation of the products in question who
objects to the proposed Company being de-
clared an approved enterprise for the pur-
poses of the Industrial Incentives Act, 1963,
should forward to the Director (Ag.) Econo-
mic Planning Unit, Office of the Prime Min-
ister and a copy to Manager, Barbados
Development Board to reach him not later
than Monday, 3rd February, 1969, a state-
ment in writing setting forth the grounds of
his objection.

TRADE TAX NOTICE


LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1958



Notice is hereby given in accordance with section 178 of the Local
Government Act, 1958, that Trade Returns are required from all companies
whether incorporated or unincorporated, societies, trust, partnerships or per-
sons engaged in any trade setting forth the profits or gains from any such
trade carried on within any Rating Area during the year 1968.

Forms of returns may be obtained from the Department of Inland
Revenue, Treasury Building, Bridge Street, and the forms duly filled in must
be delivered to me on or before the following respective dates:-

1. Returns of persons whose books were closed on the 31st day of De-
cember, 1968, on or before 15th day of March, 1969.

2. Returns of all other persons on or before the 15th day of February,
1969.

INCOME TAX DEDUCTIONS AT SOURCE

Consequent on the enactment of the Income Tax Act, 1968, new
P.A.Y.E. Tax Tables. are being compiled.

2. All employers are hereby required to continue to make P.A.Y.E. de-
ductions by reference to the current Tables until such time as the new ones
are ready for distribution.

OBJECTS AND REASONS

At present a fee of $9.60 is payable to the Account-
ant General for the late registration of a birth. This
Bill would increase the fee to $10 and make the fee
payable to the Registrar.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the
Senate and House of Assembly of Barbados,and by the
authority of the same as follows:-

1. This Act may be cited as the Registration Short title.
(Births, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials) (Amendment)
Act, 1969.


2. Paragraph (b) of Section 4(1) of the Regis-
tration (Births, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials)
(Amendment) Act, 1949 is hereby repealed and the
following paragraph substituted therefore -

"(b) have paid to the Registrar a fee of
ten dollars.",


Commencement.


3. This Act shall be deemed to have come into
operation on the 3rd July, 1968.

OBJECTS AND REASONS

This Bill would amend the Natural Gas Corpora-
tion Act, 1950 (1950-56) in order to establish uni-
form rates and scales of charges for the supply of
natural gas throughout Barbados, notwithstanding
the provisions of any law to the contrary.

BARBADOS.
A Bill intituled

An Act to amend the Natural Gas Corporation
Act, 1950.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the
Senate and House of Assembly of Barbados and by
the ,authority of the same as follows:-

1. This Act may be cited as the Natural Gas
Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1969.

2. Section. 16, of the Natural Gas Corporation
Act, 1950, hereinafter referred to as the principal
Act, is hereby repealed and the following section
substituted therefore -

3. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 18
of the Public Utilities Act, 1953 or any other law, as
from the commencement of this Act -

(a) the rates and scales of charges for natural
gas in force and applicable immediately
before such commencement to consumers
in the area supplied directly through the
high pressure service pipes connected to -
(i) the three inch transmission main trans-
ferred to the Corporation pursuant to


16. (1) The Corporation may fix the
rates and scales of charges for natural
gas and in so doing shall, having re-
gard to the provisions of sections 20
and 25A of this Act and of any allow-
ances or deductions granted under the
Income Tax Act, 1968, take into ac-
count the cost to the Crown or the
Corporation of money paid by way of
compensation, purchase or otherwise
for an existing or other well or wells,
the machinery, pipeline, other neces-
sary appliances and the general ex-
penses for carrying on the undertaking.

(2) When fixing the rates and
scales of charges under subsection
(1) the Corporation may fix different
rates and scales of charges for dif-
ferent purposes for which natural gas
is used, and the rates and scales of
charges so fixed shall apply uniformly
throughout Barbados."

convey gas to the transmission main
referred to in sub-paragraph (i) from
British Union Oil Company Wells Num-
bers 19 and 20 and Gulf Turner's Hall
Well Number 1,
shall cease to have effect;

(b) the rates and scales of charges for natural
gas in force and applicable at that time to
consumers other than those mentioned in
paragraph (a) shall continue in force and
shall apply uniformly to all consumers
throughout Barbados until new rates and
scales of charges are fixed by the Cor-
poration under section 16 of the principal
Act as contained in section 2 of this Act.
