No. 36 of 1961.
An Ordinance to amend further the Public
Holidays Act, 1954.
[18th November, 1961.] Commence-
ment.
ENACTED by the Legislature of the Colony
of the Virgin Islands.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public short title.
Holidays Act (Amendment) Ordinance, 1961, and .R 'o.
shall be read as one with the Public Holidays Act 1956/22.
1954, as amended, hereinafter called the Principal 7/1957.
Act.
2. The following shall be inserted in the insertionof
Principal Act after section 5 us section 5A:- 5A in the
Principal
"Where apub- 5A. (1) The Administrator in Act.

onSaturdaythe Council may make a general or specific
Administrator continuing order providing that if any

substitute public holiday (other than Christmas
fonlowinr Day), which may fall on a Saturday,
Monday. does so fall, the Monday following such
Saturday shall be substituted for the day
originally appointed under this Act.
(2) Until such order is revoked,
such Monday shall be deemed to be a
public holiday for all purposes of this
Act."

PROCLAMATION DATED NOVEMBER 30, 1963, APPOINTING A SESSION
FOR THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE COLONY


BY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS.

A PROCLAMATION.
M. S. STAVELEY,
Administrator.

WHEREAS it is provided by section 18 of the Virgin Islands
Constitution and Elections Ordinance, 1954, as amended, that the
sessions of the Legislative Council shall be held at such times and
places as the Administrator shall from time to time by proclamation
appoint:
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that a session of the said Coun-
cil should be held :
NOW, THEREFORE. I do by this my proclamation appoint that
a session of the Legislative Council of the Colony shall be held and
that the first meeting thereof shall commence with a sitting of the said
Council at the Council Chamber at Road Town, Tortola, at 11 o'clock
in the forenoon of Wednesday, the 11th day of December, 1963, for
the despatch of public business.
AND the Members of the said Council and all other Her Majesty's
Officers and loving subjects in the Colony and all these whom it may
concern are hereby required to take due notice hereof and to give their
ready obedience accordingly.

GIVEN at the Administrator's Office, Tortola, this 30th day
of November, 1963, and in the twelfth year of Her
Majesty's reign.

Tender Notice.

Tenders are invited for the supply
to Government of its requirements of
cement of approximately 8,000 bags
per month for Ihe period 1st January
to 31st Decembler, 1964.

All cement should b- delivered in
bags and the successful tender will
be required to keep the above quanti-
ties in stock in his storeroom and to
make deliveries therefrom in
unbroken bags and in good condition
as and when required by Government.

All tenders must be accompanied
by a certificate signed by qualified
engineers or chemists to the effect
that the cement meet in all respect
the requirements of B.S.S. 12. This
certificate must not be more than 2
months old on the day on which
tenders are received, and Government
reserves the right to demand such
certificates periodically and to reject
and shipment not meeting the required
specifications.

Government does not bind itself
to accept the lowest or any tender.

the Laws Ordinance, 1959.

ENACT ED by the Legislature of the Colony
of the Virgin Islands.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Revised Short title.
Edition of the Laws (Amendment) Ordinance, 1961,
and shall be read as one with the Revised Edition
of the Laws Ordinance, 1959, hereinafter called the 2/1959.
Principal Ordinance.
2. Section 3 of the Principal Ordinance is Amendment
hereby amended by the addition of the following sub- of etion 3
section numbered (3) immediately after subsection Principal
(2) thereof:-- Ordinance.
(3) Notwithstanding the provi-
sions of the Income Tax Ordinance,
2/1946. 1946, all fees paid to the Commissioner
appointed under this section shall be
exempt from Income Tax."

5. If the delivery of uniforms is
delayed for a period exceeding four
weeks after tho date of receipt of the
material, or if the uniforms are un-
satisfactorily tailored, Government
reserves the right to cancel the con-
tract on giving one week's notice in
writing.
