CUCURBIT VARIETY EVALUATION

ASSISTANT CENTER DIRECTOR
Included in these evaluations are fresh
market and pickling cucumbers, cantaloupe
and honeydews, yellow and green summer
squash, winter squash, and watermelons
grown at the CFREC Leesburg. A very late
spring frost on April 5 killed all the
cucumbers which were replanted April 8.
Other cucurbits, especially squash, were
also injured but the trials were-no-t
completely replanted. Low yields in 1987
were due largely to this cold dan age.
Viruses and Fusrium wilt were not se e&.
