WELCOME TO LIBRARY WEST

Originally opening in 1967, Library West was designated the Graduate Research Library. At the end of 2003,
following many changes in allocation and use of its space, the building closed for an expansion and complete
renovation. Reopening in August, 2006, the "new" Library West has become a campus center for study,
collaboration, intellectual exploration, and access to the world of electronic information.

Special features of the building include:
Shelving capacity of 1.7 million volumes on movable shelves

20 group study rooms, 84 graduate studies, 36 faculty studies, eight computer booths, six video booths,
and a wide array of individual seating at carrels, tables, and lounge chairs for a total seating capacity
of 1,400
* 121 general-use computers, 18 specialized computers supporting digital media, 20 laptops for check-out

* Wireless access throughout

* Starbucks Coffee cafe
