According to principal Terry Tanner-Smith the pro- gram was designed to honor children who have gone above and beyond in their academic performance on 2005 Stanford 10 and 2005 FCAT. The School Advisory Board and the Parent Teacher Organization teamed up to create the awards program. The Parent Teacher Organi- zation funded the bonus for the high achievers. The library was festively decorated with green and silver. Play money was dis- persed on bookshelves and table tops to remind students that hard work is profitable. Third graders who tested 90% or above on the Stanford 10 test last year as second graders were awarded a certificate and five dollars.
