ALEXANDER ZEMLIAKOFF
Expert Agriculturist
-- AM an expert Agriculturist, both theo-
retical and practical. From 1904 to
1919 I was engaged in promoting
agriculture in the central part of Russia, in
Finland, Turkestan, Caucasia, Siiberia and also
in the northeastern part of Russia. From 1919
to 1927 I worked in China, but had to leave
there in January of this year. From China I
went via Jap) to Canada. From Victoria I
toured the e tire northern part of Canada, to
Montreal, i making an intensive study of the
soil and ve elation. I found that agriculture

in Canadrl was not very well organized or de.
veloped.
At Ottawa I talked with the Minister of Im-
migration and Colonization and his assistant.
At the same time I met a gentleman who owns
large estates in Florida and he advised me
that Florida presented limitless agricultural
possibilities. Being very much interested I
left at once and going via Montreal arrived in
New York. From there I wired friends in
St. Augustine and they confirmed the opinion
of the gentleman whom I met in Ottawa, saying 7
that Florida's agricultural future was great.
I then came from New York to St. Augustine
and since my arrival here I have made experi-
ments in and around St. Augustine.
I find that the climate of Florida is espe-
cially well adapted to a wide variety of vege-
tation and while the soil lacks some of the
necessary substances, after further experi-
ments I will be in position to recommend just
what should be added for fertilization. I think
that Florida will prove better adapted for a
wide variety of Agriculture than any other
place in America. After I have made an
analysis of the effect of the dew on growing
vegetation I will be prepared to say what I can
do to assist agriculturists in Florida. I am very
much interested in Agriculture in Florida and
I think this is the best place in all the world
for my line of work. The climate is indeed
very favorable and there seems to be a wide
field for experiments and improvements. I an
looking forward with pleasure to future expe-
riments and I am certain that I can do much
to instruct and assist the people of Florida in
agricultural development.
-q F you wish to have flowers or vege-
tables either for your own use or for
sale I can advise you as to the proper
selection according to the space you
have for planting and also according to the con-
trolling factors of season, soil, culture, climate
and color. For some it is difficult to keep flow-
ers indoors, but I can give you complete instruc-
tions as to the care of both cut flowers and
flowers in pots, for successful indoor blooming.
The importance of a greenhouse cannot be
overestimated, as it is a necessity if you wish
to have a successful flower or vegetable garden.
Do not think that this entails great cost, for I
can advise you how to make an inexpensive
greenhouse and how to use it for practical re-
suits.

Landscape Gardening
( HE climate and soil of Florida is ad-
mirably adapted to the rapid growth ^
and development of trees, shrubbery
and palms, making it possible to gel better and
quicker results than anywhere else. If you
are interested in a garden of any style I can
produce the desired effect for you. By trans-
planting trees and shrubs of any age I can
produce a garden of ten, fifteen or twenty
years' growth. within a period of two years.
Perhaps you have an old garden in which
the trees and shrubs are diseased and you think
that nothing can be done for them, but no gar-
den is so old or run down that it cannot be
repaired to present a pleasing effect. If trees
are decaying and do not grow I can Ireat them
so that they will grow again, thus transforming
the garden into a place of beauty.

Investi action of Soil
/ t NE of the most.important features
in gardening is the soil. Perhaps
you understand gardening and
also devote considerable time and energy to
the work, but still are unsuccessful and do not
realize good profits. In an instance of this
kind I can test your soil and advise just what
is required to show results.

Analysis of Soil
'1-r is a waste of time and money to fer-
tilize soil until it is known just what
is required. It may be that you have
used a good many different kinds of fertilizer,
but such practice is really more harmful than
good. To determine just what is needed an
analysis of the soil must be made. This shows
just what chemicals are contained in the soil
and just what should be added to produce the
kind of plants desired. I am in position to
save you both time and money by making an
analysis and giving expert advice in the matter.

Operation and Treatment of
Vegetativeness
oIj You have a grove which was for-
merly productive but is now run
down and the fruit is either small or
scarce I can inspect the trees and advise you
as to the cause and remedy. Often small trees,
shrubs and roses are affected by insects. I can
prepare for you an inexpensive solution, to use
as a spray, which will eliminate the trouble
from this source. Just as soon as you find
something is wrong you should seek expert
advice in the matter and not let the conditions
get beyond control.

Analysis of Seeds, Bulbs and Roots
-- F YOU have some seeds, bulbs or roots
and you wish to be certain that they
are fertile before going to the expense
and time required for planting, I can make an
analysis which will ascertain whether or not
they will grow when planted. Too much stress
cannot be placed upon the importance of
proper planting, but before you begin to plant
be certain that your seeds or bulbs are fertile
and will grow within a reasonable lime.

Organization of Dairy
1F YOL are interested in starting a dairy
either for private use or as a business
I can give you advice as to the kind
of cows to buy for producing large quantities
of milk and thus showing better profits. I can
also instruct you as to the kind of buildings
io erect and the kind of feed to provide. I can
teach the proper way to milk a cow. This is
very important as many cows are spoiled in
this respect by inexperienced persons. 1 can
also advise you as to the stock to use for breed-
ing. Information on organizing a dairy will
save the expense of experimenting with stock
and methods which may not be profitable.
If you have an old dairy which needs build-
ing up lel me inspect it for you and advise just
what should be done to show profits and results,
