About IDS 1161: What is the Good Life @ UF

In IDS 1161: What is the Good Life, UF undergraduates explore how people from different societies across time conceptualize the good life, what meaning and value individuals ascribe to the lives that they want to live, and what are the choices, costs, and benefits of the good life.  At the end of the course, each student completes the "This I Believe" audio essay (adapted from ThisIBelieve.org). In this assignment, students identify a value or belief that guides them, and they explain how a course work relates to that value or belief.  Students of IDS 1161 are also invited to enter their audio essays in the competition for the This I Believe Scholarship.

The Finalists of the competition and the recipients of the This I Believe Scholarship have their entries included in IDS 1161: What is the Good Life @ UF. This collection is intended to serve as a resource for current students to consult, to recognize students in IDS 1161 for the exceptional quality of their work, and to provide the UF community with the opportunity to learn more about the purpose and content of the course. To view a list of audio essays, click on View Items in the menu bar (Good Life All @ UF).
