i withthe object of havirig the teachers meet fortnightly
for discussion of something aside' fr6m "shop." It al-
so has its social feature in that each third meeting is a
6',4 gathering of an informal nature at the home of the
S President or some other member of the faculty. Games .
S and refreshments serve to bring the teachers and bind
them into close and friendly relations.
During this session the teachers are studying biog-
S raphy under three heads: Great Rulers, Men of the New
Era, and European Leaders. Under the first head
.' are Alfred the Great, Elizabeth, Gustavus Adolphus,
and Frederick the Great; unber the second head are
Wagner, Ruskin, Spencer, and Darwin, and under the
third head are Louis Napoleon, Bismark and Gladstone
A literary committee, appointed for the year, furn-
s hes a bibliography on each character and assigns spe-
cial topics to members, thus insuring a leader on each .
point of discussion. Thus the teachers benefit thetn-
". elves in ways literary and social.
