Abstract:
A packet of materials on the impact of the Mariel boatlift on drugs. On April 30, 1983, the U.S. Senate Drug Enforcement Caucus held a hearing on Cuban government involvement in drug smuggling. Particularly interesting is the story of Mario Estevez Gonzalez, a marielito who claims he was one of thousands planted by the Cuban government with the explicit mission of infiltrating the United States, facilitating drug imports, and spreading drug addiction to undermine the U.S. population. Abstract:
Un paquete de materiales sobre el impacto de la plataforma Mariel sobre las drogas. El 30 de abril de 1983, el Comité de Fiscalización de Drogas de los Estados Unidos celebró una audiencia sobre la participación del gobierno cubano en el contrabando de drogas. Particularmente interesante es la historia de Mario Estevez González, un marielito que afirma que fue uno de los miles plantados por el gobierno cubano con la misión explícita de infiltrarse en Estados Unidos, facilitando la importación de drogas y extendiendo la adicción a las drogas para socavar a la población estadounidense.
