General Note:
The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
General Note:
In 1924, Maybelle ‘Ma’ Ewen opened the twelve room Doctor’s Cave Hotel, which later became known as the Casa Blanca Beach Hotel. This was the first hotel in Montego Bay, Saint James, Jamaica. In this image, tourists sit at a table to eat under a large umbrella on the terrace of the hotel, while servers stand around them. Slide labeled Casa Blanca Hotel Doctors Cave Beach Montego Bay.
