General Note:
The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
General Note:
Polo known as the game of kings was brought to Jamaica by the British in 1882 when they established one of the oldest polo clubs in the world. In 1892, Sam Burke founded the Saint Ann Polo Club, which moved to its present location at the Drax Hall Estate in 1905. Slide labeled Drax Polo Grounds St Anns Bay.
