General Note:
The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
General Note:
Saint Ann's Bay is the capital of the parish of Saint Ann, Jamaica. In 1494, Christopher Columbus landed in the area and named the spot Santa Gloria. The first building on the right, in the foreground, is Frank Watson's Off Course Betting establishment. This is a view of the beach from Wharf Street. Slide labeled Jam. St. Ann's Bay near where Col. landed.
